Leroy Burrell got off to a bad start in the 100 meters at the Cologne international track and field meet in Germany on Sunday before pulling ahead to win in 10.13 seconds.

“I didn’t get off to a good start, but the decisive factor was that I was able to accelerate in the last 30 meters,” Burrell said.

Andre Cason of the United States was second in 10.18, followed by Frank Fredericks of Namibia in 10.19.

Torrence won the women’s 100 meters in 10.97 seconds, with Krabbe in second at 11.04.
