OUTLOOK

The Tillers’ graduation losses--13 first-team, All-Sea View League players, including the offensive and defensive MVPs of the league, the team’s leading regular-season rusher and a two-year starter at quarterback--would be staggering to most teams. But at Tustin there are no breaks for rebuilding years. Coach Ancich says his sixth season at the school will be critical for the program. “We’ll be out there on the field hoping we don’t embarrass ourselves,” Ancich said. Although the Tillers lack varsity experience at virtually all the skill positions, they should have a stronger offensive line and the players moving into the starting lineup and up from the programs’ lower level teams are accustomed to success. At quarterback, Miller, a transfer who started last season at Warren High in Downey, will compete with three others.
