Few Watch ‘Church’: Despite all the publicity surrounding KCET’s airing of “Stop the Church,” a short film about a protest against Catholic Church policies on AIDS, only 229,130 of Los Angeles’ 4.9 million households tuned in to watch it. By the end of the 90-minute program, which included a screening of the 24-minute film plus a discussion about the issues raised by it, only 78,000 households were still watching, according to the station.
