Sewing Shop Owner Penalized Again: Los Angeles sewing shop operator Elim Fashion and its owner, Gung Jo Bae, was ordered by the U.S. Labor Department to pay a total of $10,500 to 30 workers who worked long hours but were deprived of overtime wages. The Labor Department said the order is the second this year against Bae. In January he was ordered to pay $2,425 in back wages to employees of a Walnut sewing shop he formerly owned. Bae couldn’t be reached for comment.
