Rowe Leads Cast for Grove’s ‘Our Town’ Season Opener
GARDEN GROVE — The Grove Shakespeare Festival will launch its 1991-92 season Oct. 4 with Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning “Our Town,” directed by Carl Reggiardo and starring former Laguna Playhouse artistic director Douglas Rowe as the stage manager.
It will be Reggiardo’s first solo directing assignment for the Grove. He co-directed a 1985 Grove production of “Going to See the Elephant” with his wife, actress Karen Hensel, who co-authored the play.
The “Our Town” cast, announced Wednesday, also includes Gary Bell and Marnie Crossen as Dr. and Mrs. Gibbs; Kevin Symons and Jenifer Parker as the Webbs; Charles Cook as George, and Ellen Dunning as Emily.
A preview performance will be given Oct. 3. The regular run will continue through Nov. 2 in the Gem Theatre, 12852 Main St. Information: (714) 636-7213.
