THOUSAND OAKS : Reward Offered for Tip on Burglaries
The Ventura County Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps solve a rash of burglaries in a Thousand Oaks business area.
Since June, 53 small businesses along Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Moorpark Road have been vandalized. During the evening, windows or doors were smashed with large rocks and small items or currency taken.
Cash, ranging from a roll of pennies to $260, was stolen, police said. The cost to replace each door or window has averaged about $300. Sheriff’s Department investigators believe that the same people committed all the burglaries.
Anyone with information about the crimes should call Crime Stoppers at 494-TALK or the Ventura County government toll-free number, 656-1500, Ext. 8255. Callers may remain anonymous, and if the information leads to an arrest and the filing of criminal charges, the caller will be paid a reward.
