Parents Stand Behind Beleaguered Principal
With deep concern we read the Aug. 25 article about Brentwood Science Magnet School and its principal, Beverly Tietjen.
Three of our children have attended the school, and we can give only the highest praise for Mrs. Tietjen. She has made the school one of the best elementary schools in Los Angeles. Mrs. Tietjen was the first person in the morning to welcome the students and the last one to go home. Our children felt her strong commitment, and my daughters are proud to tell us about how Mrs. Tietjen knew every student by name.
We are all behind Mrs. Tietjen, but regardless of the outcome of the investigation there will always be a bad mark left. We strongly feel that this article should never have been printed before the investigation was completed.
