An Older Connors Is Still Childish

I was beginning to think I was the only one disgusted with Jimmy Connors’ showboating antics.

He was/is a superb and intense athlete, but I don’t think that excuses his crude behavior. His opponents were unbelievably tolerant of his game-delaying outbursts. His verbal abuse of the chair umpire should have been penalized, but after all the hype about his age, the officials apparently couldn’t deal with ugly reality.
