San Diego
Two people were shot and wounded Wednesday evening in Southeast San Diego during a drive-by shooting that authorities believe may be gang-related.
A car sped by the 4900 block of Logan Avenue at 6:36 p.m., shooting out a spray of bullets, police said. Lamar Malhem was struck three times in the stomach. He was listed in critical condition at Mercy Hospital, a hospital spokesman said.
Marsha Hanley was struck by a bullet just beneath her left eye, police said. Hanley was in guarded but stable condition at Mercy Hospital. It is not yet known whether her vision will be affected by the incident, hospital spokesman said.
Police believe the suspects were driving a pink or maroon Cadillac. There is no known motive, and the gang unit will investigate.
