Cypress volleyball player Heather Lowe, the Empire League MVP last year as a sophomore, will be out at least a week with sore stomach muscles, Coach Jerry Gregg said.
Lowe, a 6-foot middle blocker, sat out the last game of Cypress’ four-game victory over Ocean View Tuesday night after complaining of stomach pains. She went to the hospital Tuesday night, but returned to school feeling better on Wednesday, Gregg said.
“We’re not sure how the injury happened,” Gregg said. “She was hurting a little last week, then collided with another player (Monday) against Los Alamitos. She was in a lot of pain in the Ocean View match, so we took her out.”
