Man in Coma After Plunge Off Balcony
ANAHEIM — An Anaheim man was in a coma Thursday night after he was either pushed or fell from a balcony during a scuffle, police said.
At 6 p.m., the victim had gone to an acquaintance’s apartment on Crestwood Lane, and “somehow ended up in a shoving match on the balcony on the second floor,” said Anaheim Police Officer Jeff Berns. He “was either pushed or fell . . . and fell to the pavement.”
The victim apparently lived in the same apartment building, police said.
Investigators did not immediately know how many people were involved in the fight, but one man was detained as a witness for questioning, Berns said.
The victim suffered a fractured skull and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he was in a coma and in critical condition, Berns said.
