Protecting the Gnatcatcher
Rep. William Dannemeyer’s reaction to the gnatcatcher news is amusing. He expresses his concern for the young people of California who were dreaming of owning their own home while the only people crying about the decision were folks like Hugh Hewitt of the Building Industry Assn. of Southern California and Frank Panarisi, president of the Construction Industry Federation. Perhaps the young people Dannemeyer is concerned about are the children of such Orange County developers.
Most young people in truth will be better off when our representatives come to realize the importance and interdependency of all life and when we have developers who can develop a metropolitan area that works instead of just adding more sprawl.
