American Express May Sell Part of Magazine Unit: The financial services company is reportedly considering selling a significant part of its magazine operations. The Wall Street Journal said American Express is talking with publishing and media companies and investment groups such as K-III Holdings, controlled by buyout specialists Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. American Express Publishing Co., whose magazines include L.A. Style, is believed to feel that a partner would help its publications grow.
