Jail Inmate, 31, Dies of Natural Causes
ANAHEIM — A 31-year-old inmate died Tuesday of natural causes in the jail ward of Western Medical Center-Anaheim, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
John Lopez Frausto of Fullerton was transferred to the hospital from the James A. Musick Branch Jail near Irvine on Aug. 24 when he became ill, said Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Mendez. It was not immediately known what his illness was, Mendez said.
Authorities listed Frausto’s cause of death as “natural,” but said a procedural investigation into his death will be conducted by the district attorney’s office.
Frausto was serving time for probation violations and failure to appear in court, Mendez said.
