IN BRIEF : Davila, Eight Others Get Excellence Award
William S. Davila, president and chief operating officer of the Vons Companies Inc., was keynote speaker and one of eight recipients of the Hispanic Excellence Award Friday at Northern Trust of California’s annual Hispanic recognition luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
The award recognizes individuals who promote positive images of Latinos in California and inspire Latino youth to achieve personal and professional excellence. Other recipients at the luncheon were: Cardinal Roger Mahony; Frank del Olmo, deputy editor, Los Angeles Times; Linda Alvarez, news co-anchor, KNBC Channel 4; Raul O. Martinez, president and CEO, King Taco restaurants; Ernie Cahacho, president, Pacific Enterprises; Alex Meruello, president, La Pizza Loca; Monica Lozano-Centanino, associate publisher, La Opinion--El Eco Del Valle.
