Glendale : Hearing on Development
The first public hearing on a controversial proposal by a developer to flatten a Glendale hilltop and build up to 61 houses in Glenmore Canyon will be held at 7 p.m. today before the City Council and Environmental Planning Board.
Public comment will be accepted on a draft environmental impact report on plans by Polygon of Laguna Niguel to build a subdivision on a 28.8-acre site south of Mountain Street and west of the Glendale Freeway. The development would require that up to 112 feet be cut off the top of a steep, horseshoe-shaped ridge north of Glenmore Canyon.
Polygon also is nearing completion on the 542-home Rancho San Rafael subdivision at Mountain Street on the east side of the Glendale Freeway.
The hearing will be held at City Hall, 613 E. Broadway.
