2 More Sought in Fatal Shooting of Girl, 14
TUSTIN — Police on Wednesday were seeking two more suspects in the shooting death of a 14-year-old Tustin girl, which resulted in one arrest earlier this week.
Ruben G. Guerrero, 24, was arrested Monday on suspicion of murder in the Sept. 13 death of Lilia Vianey Guevara, who was shot in the chest, according to Tustin Police Lt. Charles Crane. Guerrero is being held at Orange County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Police said Lilia, a sophomore at Westminster High School, and some friends were either leaving or just arriving at a party in an apartment complex at the 15500 block of Boleyn Circle when shots rang out. There were at least 50 party-goers, most of whom fled after shots were fired, police said.
“The motive of the shooting remains a mystery, (but) the crime is not . . . gang-related,” Crane said.
Police are seeking two other suspects. Arrest warrants have been issued for Guerrero’s brother, Albert, 23, of Irvine, and Robert Garcia, 18, of Santa Ana.
Guerrero faces arraignment Oct. 4 in Central Orange County Municipal Court in Santa Ana.
