Cleveland 24, Monroe 8--The visiting Cavaliers drove 70 yards for a touchdown on their first drive--capped by Manuel Valencia’s three-yard run--to set the tone for the game.

Cleveland (1-1) drove 73 yards in nine plays--including seven running plays--in the second quarter to take a 16-0 lead. Ibn Bilal capped the drive with a five-yard touchdown run.

High school football--The Cleveland High player who scored the team’s first touchdown in a 24-8 win over Monroe on Friday was misidentified in Saturday’s edition. Coron Lewis scored on a three-yard run.

Bilal rushed for 104 yards in 18 carries to lead the Cavaliers, who rushed for 296 yards, and had 391 yards in total offense.

Sean Bell gained 104 yards in 15 carries and scored a touchdown for Monroe (0-2), which was held to 152 yards in total offense.
