Genentech Will Invest in British Company: The agreement calls for Genentech to provide $10 million for research projects at Xenova Ltd., a 4-year-old drug discovery company in Slough, England. In addition, the large South San Francisco company will make a two-stage, $10-million equity investment in Xenova. The two are jointly working on drugs and other approaches to treat heart disease and autoimmune diseases.
