SANTA ANA : Class Will Teach Pronunciation Skills
Starting Wednesday, the Rancho Santiago College Public Service Institute will conduct a four-week class in the proper pronunciation of English.
The seminar, “Pronunciation Skills for Non-Native Speakers,” will teach students whose first language is not English correct pronunciation, give an overview of speech principles and work on commonly mispronounced consonants and vowels.
The class will meet from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays through Oct. 25, beginning Wednesday in Room D-103 on the Santa Ana campus, at 17th and Bristol streets.
The class is open only to non-native English speakers. The fee is $6, and the class is worth one unit of college credit. It may be repeated as many as four times.
