Goodby Gary: On a scale from one to 10, there’s a 10 chance that film critic Gary Franklin will leave KABC-TV at the end of the year and return to Germany where he was born. Franklin says he is in “the last legal stages” of negotiating a release from his Channel 7 contract and plans to become a management consultant with the radio-TV network RTL-Plus in Cologne. Franklin says he has a “burning desire to return to my roots while remaining 100% active in my profession.”
