Medical Disciplinary Actions
The Medical Board of California licenses physicians and other medical professionals. It also investigates medical complaints and issues disciplinary actions. The most serious penalties include license revocation, suspension and probation.
These are the Los Angeles County medical professionals subject to serious disciplinary actions between March 1 and May 15, 1991, according to medical board documents. Final actions are published only after all appeals are exhausted.
DOCTORS:
Leonard Breslaw, M.D., Woodland Hills. Conviction for unlawful distribution of controlled substances. Revocation of license stayed; placed on probation for 10 years. Effective May 11.
Edward M. Holden, M.D., Malibu. Gross negligence, repeated negligence, incompetence in prescribing and dispensing controlled substances excessively without prior exam and medical indication and without proper labeling to addicts; incomplete triplicate forms; selling drugs. Conviction for illegal distribution of a controlled substance. License revoked. Effective March 6.
Gregory Bernard Jackson, M.D., Los Angeles. Disciplined by Wisconsin Medical Board for self-use of cocaine. Unlawful possession of cocaine. Convictions for drunk driving. California license revoked. Effective April 5.
ACUPUNCTURISTS:
Jae Hoon Kim, Long Beach. Convictions for dishonesty involving checks and for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. License revoked. Effective May 10.
In Sang You, Los Angeles. Conviction for bribery. License revoked. Effective May 10.
RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER:
Kevin James Wilson, Lancaster. When audited, failed to provide documentation of the continuing education requirements for renewal of license or to take steps to cure deficiency. License revoked. Effective April 19.
