Adam Rich Pleads Not Guilty to Drug Charge
Television actor Adam Rich pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a felony drug possession charge stemming from what police said was the theft of a drug-filled syringe from a Marina del Rey hospital.
Rich, 22, who played the youngest of the television clan in the long-running series “Eight is Enough,” could be imprisoned up to three years if convicted, prosecutors said.
The Chatsworth resident was arrested Sunday on a warrant after allegedly taking the syringe containing the pain-killer Demerol while being treated for a dislocated shoulder at Daniel Freeman Marina Hospital, police said.
Floyd Siegal, Rich’s attorney, said he hoped to have the actor bailed out sometime today and “enroll him immediately in a drug treatment center.”
