Azusa : Partial Motel Ban Advances
The City Council tentatively approved an ordinance Monday prohibiting new motels and hotels except in the area of the Azusa Avenue off-ramps to the Foothill Freeway.
Existing motels in the city are already experiencing low occupancy rates, Roy Bruckner, director of community development, told the council. The new ordinance is designed to alleviate the problem before it gets worse.
The ordinance is scheduled to receive final approval Oct. 21.
