Arcadia : Mall Seeks Expansion Aid
Owners of Santa Anita Fashion Park have asked the city to help finance a proposed expansion of the mall on Huntington Drive and Baldwin Avenue.
The City Council on Tuesday hired a financial consultant to study the proposal by Anita Associates to see if city money is needed for the $75-million project. The city will pay Keyser Marston Associates $28,600 to evaluate the developer’s preliminary plans and finances.
The project, scheduled for completion in September, 1994, includes demolishing the old Buffums department store and adding 430,000 square feet, including Nordstrom and May Co. stores, 50 to 60 other shops and additional parking.
