U.S. Leadership
It has been observed that when there were 13 colonies and a population of less than 3 million, our struggling infant nation had the talents of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, John and Sam Adams, John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson . . . the list goes on.
Now, with nearly 300 million and 50 states, we have George Walker Bush, Dan Quayle, Clarence Thomas, Ted Kennedy and Alan Cranston.
Is this something like the fall of Rome? Pollsters tells us that we Americans are disenchanted with our representatives. We have no one to blame but ourselves; we have met the enemy . . . and it is us.
