Woman Who Left Dog in Hot Car Gets Pooch Back
A Beverly Hills woman who went shopping and left her pooch to pass out in a Mercedes-Benz, with the windows rolled up on a 100-degree day, got her dog back Friday.
But Cynthia Biniewicz, who pleaded no contest to animal cruelty charges on Wednesday, will have to meet a list of conditions to keep her year-old Lhasa apso, Maxine. Beverly Hills Municipal Court Judge Judith Stein ordered Biniewicz to take the dog to a veterinarian weekly, submit to random inspections by the Department of Animal Control and pay for all of the dog’s care. Biniewicz still faces a Nov. 21 sentencing for the misdemeanor charge.
On Sept. 24, sheriff’s deputies had to break Biniewicz’s car window to rescue the small, white-haired dog.
