CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : SAN DIEGO : Jury Chosen for Broderick Retrial

A five-woman, seven-man jury was seated Friday for the second murder trial of Elisabeth Broderick, the one-time socialite accused of shooting her ex-husband and his new wife. Broderick, 44, admitted during her first trial that she shot her former husband, Daniel Broderick III, 44, and his 28-year-old wife, Linda Kolkena Broderick, in their home on Nov. 5, 1989. But Broderick said her husband drove her to violence after four years of psychological abuse during bitter divorce and custody battles.
