PREP NOTES
Scott Cronin, a returning all-league linebacker at Los Alamitos, was devasted to learn last week that chronic hip injury would likely end his football career. Then, the junior visited Michael Krissman, a 10-year-old, suffering from a brain tumor, who the team adopted this season.
Krissman, who is confined to a wheelchair, was introduced to the team by offensive tackle Bill McMullen. McMullen met Krissman while his 12-year-old sister was being treated for a similar aliment according to Los Alamitos Coach John Barnes.
“Some of the kids visit Michael once a week and he’s been to a couple of our games,” Barnes said. “Scott was feeling pretty down, but he put things into perspective after visiting Michael. It was nice to see him put that all together.”
Los Alamitos is planning on doing something nice for Krissman. The team has dedicated its game to him on Oct. 25 against Esperanza and will present a game ball to him at halftime.
