COLLEGE FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : USC : Royster Leads Pac-10 Rushers
Although he missed halves of two games and all of another with various injuries, USC tailback Mazio Royster leads the Pacific 10 with an average of 105.3 yards rushing a game.
And Royster is playing hurt, Coach Larry Smith said.
“He’s got a foot problem,” Smith said. “There could be a bone chip in his ankle or his foot. I know he hasn’t completely recovered from the knee (sprained in the opener, which kept him out of 1 1/2 games). He just doesn’t look fresh. But he’s giving us everything he’s got, so I can’t ask any more.”
