Man Dies of Injuries in Newport Beach Crash
NEWPORT BEACH — A man died of head injuries early Saturday when he was thrown from his car after it hit a street median and overturned, police said.
The man, whose name was not available, was driving a sports car south on Superior Avenue, south of Ticonderoga Street, when he struck a center divider at 2 a.m., Newport Beach Sgt. Fred Heinecke said.
The car overturned and the man was ejected, Heinecke said. The victim, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he died.
