Spring Valley
Two men were arrested early Friday after they kidnaped a Spring Valley man for $100 ransom, officials said.
Roy Wayne of Casa de Oro told police Friday that his brother, Lance McKinley, called him at 2 a.m. to say that he had been kidnaped by two men, San Diego police spokesman Dave Cohen said.
The two men wanted Wayne to meet them at 26th Street and Broadway and to pay them $100 in return for McKinley, Cohen said.
San Diego police made a mock ransom drop, and a car with two men and McKinley drove up. Police arrested Jerry Medina, 18, of National City. After a short chase on foot, police also arrested Jorge Contreras, 24. No address for Contreras was available.
Both are being held in County Jail without bail on suspicion of kidnaping for ransom and robbery.
