Morning Retorts

Please, how maudlin can you get! I’m referring to the “Commentary” by Tom Shales, The Washington Post, “Katie Couric is NBC’s Top of the Morning” article (TV Times, Sept. 29). I couldn’t believe the dribble. My only hope is that he had tongue in cheek and was kidding.
