Festival to Benefit Home-Building Project for Needy
Visual artists and craftspeople are invited to sell their work at a festival in Brea on Dec. 14 and 15.
The festival will benefit Habitat for Humanity, a group that builds homes for low-income families, and will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days in the parking lot of the Union Federal Bank corporate building at 330 E. Lambert Road.
Artists are asked to pay entry fees of $125 to $150 in return for booth spaces. A portion of the entry fees will go to the home-building group, which is planning a 30-unit housing project in Brea next year.
The volunteer organization, of which former President Jimmy Carter is a member, selects families based on need and charges them construction costs only.
Habitat for Humanity recently completed two new condominiums in Rancho Santa Margarita, bringing to 48 the number of units it has built in the South County community.
December’s art festival will be free to the public. For information on applying for a booth, call Lee Gilpin at (714) 990-3301.
