Mater Dei’s Cale Carter to Play Ball at Stanford

Cale Carter, a senior outfielder at Mater Dei, has orally committed to play baseball at Stanford next year, Monarch Coach Bob Ickes said Monday.

Carter, a Times Orange County Edition all-county selection in 1991 and a two-year All-Angelus League pick, batted .375 with 20 runs batted in and scored 16 runs last season.

He played on the West team at the U.S. Olympic Festival in the summer and was a member of a U.S. all-star team that played Japan and South Korea.
