Japanese Vehicle Exports Fall: Weak demand in the United States helped push Japan’s vehicle exports down 1.6% in the first half of the fiscal year, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Assn. said. Overall, Japan exported 2.76 million vehicles in the April-September period. While exports of cars, trucks and buses to the United States fell in the first half, those to most other regions rose, the association said. A strong increase in exports to Germany led an increase in shipments to the European Community.
