For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week:

* Rake out leaves under roses to control black spot, rust and over wintering insect egg clusters. Remove them from garden.

* Feed azaleas, camellias and rhododendrons with 0-10-10 fertilizer.

* Plant daffodils every three weeks to extend the bloom period.

* If you have a perfect spot for a shade tree, plant it now. It will become established by spring and be better able to take the heat of next summer.

* Spray roses for mildew.
