Very Presidential Stuff: The Paul Perlin collection of presidential campaign memorabilia will go on the auction block Dec. 12 at Sotheby’s New York. The collection of 20,000 buttons, photographs, letters and documents from the campaigns of George Washington to Jimmy Carter will be sold as a single unit at an estimated price of $2.5 million to $3.5 million. Perlin, a Chicago commodities trader, loaned the collection to the University of Kentucky from 1980 to 1990.
