MORE ON REHNQUIST

Re “The Rehnquist Court” (by David G. Savage, Sept. 29): It is widely felt that physicians have become insensitive to the plight of their patients and how helpless, mistreated and misunderstood they feel. In Hollywood’s most recent foray into this subject, medical students are forced to don backless hospital gowns, endure multiple blood and other tests and finally, the enema. It is clear that Rehnquist needs to have the parallel legal experience. Like William Hurt in “The Doctor,” Rehnquist needs to spend time in a bed that he usually makes for someone else.
