Hey, did you hear? According to the front page of the Wall Street Journal on Sept. 13, “Los Angeles is in the throes of another trend: the Bohemian-style coffeehouse.” The Journal really missed the mark--the statute of limitations ran out on this trend about a year ago, and we’ve got the bad headlines to prove it:

“Riding the Crest of a Culinary Wave,” Los Angeles Herald Examiner, Nov. 18, 1988.

“Coffee Emporium,” Los Angeles Magazine, December, 1988.

“Best New Coffee Emporium,” L.A. Weekly, August, 1988.

“Wake Up and Smell the Espresso,” Interview, November, 1989.

“Wake Up and Smell the Profits,” Nation’s Restaurant News, Jan. 30, 1989.

“L.A.’s Newest Coffee Houses,” The Hollywood Reporter, Feb. 23, 1990. “Espresso Yourself,” California, March, 1990.

“Java Jive Revived,” The World Dining & Travel Connection, April-May, 1990.

“Java Joints,” The Times, January, 1990, “Coffeehouse Culture,” June, 1990, “L.A.’s Espresso Circuit,” August, 1991.

“Cafe Culture,” L.A. Style, August, 1991.

“Mo’ Better Jo,” L.A. Reader, August, 1991.

“Latte Literati,” Buzz, September/October, 1991.

‘Nough said.
