Retailer’s Chairman Vanishes: Cascade International, a retailer of women’s fashion and cosmetics, said its chairman has vanished and its board of directors has named a replacement at an emergency meeting. Missing is Victor G. Incendy, the Boca Raton, Fla., company’s majority shareholder. Aaron Karp, a company attorney, will be acting chairman. Cascade’s stock plummeted from $7.25 Sept. 30 to $2.75 Oct. 1 after a negative report by an investment newsletter. “We’ve been expecting something kind of like this to happen,” Michael Murphy, editor of the Overpriced Stock Service newsletter, said of Incendy’s disappearance. In California, the company operates J. B.’s Boutiques and Allisons Place stores.
