San Gabriel : Cammarano Elected Mayor

The City Council on Tuesday elected Vice Mayor Mary Cammarano as mayor in a routine reshuffling of the panel. Councilman Dominic S. Polimeni is the new vice mayor.
Cammarano replaces Sabino M. Cici in the largely ceremonial post, which is rotated among the five members so that each gets a 9 1/2-month stint during a four-year term.
Cammarano won a special election to the council in 1989 after city voters recalled Councilman Frank Blaszcak. She faces election in April.
Polimeni won his council seat last year.
