Man Who Called 911 Arrested in Slaying
A man who called 911 to report that his ex-girlfriend was assaulted has been arrested on murder charges in Lancaster after investigators concluded that he beat her to death, sheriff’s deputies said Wednesday.
John Carl Heller, 28, remained in custody without bail at the Antelope Valley sheriff’s station. He was arrested after deputies responding to the call Tuesday night found the victim, who was identified by the coroner as Jeanna R. Yetter, 33, of Lancaster.
The woman was pronounced dead at her house in the 44600 block of Cedar Avenue. Deputies said the woman’s head had been severely beaten.
Deputies said the couple had broken up several months ago.
