Lincoln 13, Granada Hills 12--The Highlanders’ determined second-half comeback fell short when the potential game-tying conversion kick missed wide left with 1:24 to play at Lincoln.

Trailing, 13-0, at the half, Granada Hills (6-4) fought back to pull within a point when the Highlanders scored on a trick play in which right guard Joe Gurganus ran 46 yards on a fumblerooski with 1:30 left.

The Highlanders opted for the tie, but kicker Tim Boundy missed wide left. The Tigers (8-3), who play Kennedy in the second round Wednesday, recovered the ensuing onside-kick attempt and ran the clock out for the win.
