GIVING THANKS

Hold the Turkey: Meanwhile, a turkey was the guest of honor--not the center of dining attraction--at Monday’s PETA Vegeterian Thanksgiving Pot Luck at the home of Cassandra (Elvira) Peterson in Hollywood. The guests, including k.d. lang, Rue McClanahan, Ed Begley Jr., Casey Kasem and Katy Sagal, dined on a holiday spread of vegetarian pate, nut roast with golden gravy, tofu pot pie, corn chowder, harvest stuffing, a giant pumpkin filled with wild rice and chestnuts and pecan pie with tofutti. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) says Tom Turkey will die of old age at the local ranch where he lives, not on the dining table.
