TUSTIN : Cable Service Rates Slated for Increase
Tustin customers of Continental Cablevision will see an increase in their rates beginning Jan. 1.
The rate hike is based on increases in operating costs and programming expenses, city officials said. Rate increases are permitted by the Cable Act of 1984, which precludes regulation by local agencies.
Rates for cable-ready basic service will increase from $16.95 to $20.95 per month, with standard basic service increasing from $19.95 to $20.95. Senior basic service will rise from $13.95 to $14.95 a month. Rates for extra outlets already in place will remain the same, but additional outlets installed after Jan. 1 will cost $6.50 per month, up from the current $3.50.
There will be no change in installation charges or rates for premium channels.
