OXNARD : 2 Pairs of Bank Robbers Sentenced
Two pairs of bank robbers have been sentenced to federal prison after admitting their roles in three Ventura County holdups, the FBI announced Monday.
In one of the cases, Andrew Legans Jr., 52, of Oxnard received a 10-year sentence Monday for his role in the robbery of Wells Fargo Bank in Ventura and the attempted robbery of Santa Paula Savings & Loan Assn. in Oxnard.
Pleading guilty with him was Wiley Baxter Golden, 39, of San Francisco, who received a six-year prison sentence.
The two men admitted that they had either robbed or attempted to rob the banks on Jan. 29. They were arrested on the same day for narcotics violations, and then identified as suspects in the robbery attempt against Santa Paula Savings.
In a second case, Oxnard residents Jonathan Lee Smith, 23, and Lynette Marie Conrad, 25, were sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to the July 8 robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank branch in Oxnard.
After pleading guilty, Smith received a six-year federal prison term and Conrad a 2 1/2-year sentence.
