CAMARILLO : Camrosa Directors Sworn Into Office
A newly elected board of directors was sworn into office at the Camrosa Water District on Monday, marking the end of a successful recall movement against three incumbent directors and a race for two open seats.
At the meeting in Camarillo, directors Tad Mattock, Jeffery Brown and John B. Lamb took their seats on the five-member board. Timothy H. Hoag and Ronald J. Vogel were sworn in but not seated.
Under the state election code, Hoag and Vogel may take the oath of office but may not be seated until the first week in December after this month’s election.
However, recall directors are seated as soon as they are sworn into office.
The clean-sweep election followed a controversial water rate increase approved by the outgoing board in May that critics said unfairly penalized customers with high water bills.
The recalled directors were Jack C. Rogers, William C. Goth and Kenneth P. Gerry. Director Carolynn Nicholson did not seek reelection, and the fifth seat had been vacated by a director who resigned in June.
