SPECIAL REPORT: THANKSGIVING
TURNING THE TABLES: The well-to-do had to buy their way into Thanksgiving jobs today at the Santa Ana YWCA Hotel for Homeless Women: $100 to work cleanup, $500 for busperson, $750 for chef. . . . Bidding for maitre d’ went over $1,500. Donors are serving up the turkey, and expect to feed about 300 homeless. . . . “Competition is fierce” for the top jobs, Y2000 group president Nuby Sears says.
