Kofax Expands Quarters: Kofax Image Products, a maker of computerized document processing equipment, has expanded its corporate headquarters in the Irvine Spectrum business park by taking over space next door that was previously occupied by another company.

The addition expands the company’s property by a third to 33,000 square feet. The extra space will be used to enlarge manufacturing and test capacity for Kofax as well as to house expanded engineering laboratories and a new training center. Existing space will remain in use for administration, sales and marketing operations, and customer demonstration facilities.

David Silver, Kofax co-founder and president, said the company benefited from the glut in Orange County’s commercial real estate by negotiating a more favorable lease rate for its entire headquarters.
